Porsche and Hurley Haywood at the 2009 Amelia Island Concours

If you have been following the blog for the last few weeks, you have seen 13 fabulous Porsche’s that were displayed at this years Amelia Island Concours. In addition to the Porsche’s on the field, Porsche Cars North America had a display and tent featuring the new 2009 Boxster and Cayman models. Inside you found a cut-a-way model showing the inner workings of the new PDK transmission and a Turbo Coupe from the Porsche Sport Driving School.

Also on hand was legendary endurance driver, Hurley Haywood. Hurley is the chief driving instructor at the Porsche Sport Driving School. He was watching the action taking place with two Virtual GT driving simulators. The simulators were set up to raise money to benefit the Amelia Island Foundation Charity. Hurley had set a lap time on the simulator for the participants to beat. Watching him interacting with the fans, both young and old was a treat. It was hard to tell who had more fun, Hurley or the fans. What a gentleman!
