Porsche Boxster Named 2013 AUTOMOBILE Magazine Design of the Year

AUTOMOBILE Magazine’s worldwide team of staff and contributors has selected the new Porsche Boxster as the Design of the Year for 2013.
“With this Boxster, Porsche design chief Michael Mauer has brought the Porsche design team into a realm it has never before occupied, with pure style and pure functionality fused in products of exceptional elegance,” said Robert Cumberford, design editor of AUTOMOBILE Magazine. The third-generation Boxster, revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, benefits from a wholly-redesigned body and chassis. With a longer wheelbase, larger wheels and a new interior concept, the mid-engine sports car takes design cues from the iconic Carrera GT and 550 Spyder models from its lineage. The AUTOMOBILE Magazine 2013 “of the Year” awards are currently featured on the publication’s website,, and will appear in the January 2013 issue.

Porsche Cayenne Diesel Selected for Popular Science’s “Best of What’s New” for 2012

Popular Science has selected the Porsche Cayenne Diesel for the 2012 “Best of What’s New” honor. The Cayenne Diesel, the first diesel-powered SUV ever offered by Porsche, made its U.S. debut at the New York International Auto Show in April. Powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine and delivering 240 hp and 406 lb. ft. of torque, the Cayenne Diesel can travel up to an estimated 740 miles on a single tank of fuel. During its first month on sale, the Cayenne Diesel accounted for nearly 20 percent of all Cayenne sales in the U.S. The model was first introduced to the European market in 2009 and arrived at U.S. dealers in September 2012. The 25th annual “Best of What’s New” awards are currently featured on the Popular Science website,, and include categories such as auto, green, health and gadgets.

Porsche Receives Three 2013 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards

Porsche has received three Best Resale Value Awards from Kelley Blue Book’s for the 2013 Porsche Cayenne and 2013 Porsche Panamera vehicles.  Cayenne and Panamera were named Best Resale Value in their respective classes.  In addition, the Cayenne SUV is one of the Top 10 cars with Best Resale Value according to Kelley Blue Book’s

According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2013 model-year vehicle winners of the annual Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards recognize current and forthcoming vehicles for their projected retained value throughout the initial five-year ownership period.

Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards are based on projections from the Kelley Blue Book® Official Residual Value Guide, determined by a skilled staff of automotive analysts.  These awards honor vehicles expected to maintain the greatest proportion of their original Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) after five years of ownership.  Low-volume vehicles and vehicles with base suggested retail prices of more than $60,000 are excluded from award consideration, except in the luxury and high-performance categories.
