1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6

Jean Goutal of New York, New York displayed this perfectly restored 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6 at this years Amelia Island Concours.

This 906 was originally owned by Josef “Sepp” Greger, a German privateer who raced extensively and was very successful during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s throughout Europe as well as the United States (Daytona/Sebring).  With this car Sepp won the 1966 European Hill Climb Championship in the 2 liter division, recorded 12 first place finishes and one second place out of 14 races total.  Sepp continued to win extensively with the car during the ’67 and ’68 seasons, after which the car changed hands several times.  Between 1966 and 1972, 906-127 participated in a record 82 races, with countless top finishes.  It was then sold and shipped to Hong Kong where Herbert Adamczyk continued to compete with the car in Asia during the mid-seventies.  906-127 eventually made its way back to the United States where it received a four year ground-up restoration.
