2008 Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance starts tomorrow

The 2008 Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance starts tomorrow, October 30th and runs through November 2nd.  The event kicks off this evening with a parade of race cars driving from the track on Hutchinson Island over the bridge and through historic Savannah Georgia to Johnson Square on Bull and Congress streets.  The party at the square will start at 5 pm and ends around 7 pm.  The Hilton Head/Savannah Historics start tomorrow at 8 am on Hutchinson Island and run through Friday.  The track is adjacent to the beautiful Westin Savannah Harbor Resort.  Porsche has sent instructors from the Porsche Sport Driving School to handle our driving events.

The Sports and Classic Car Auction and the Car Club Jamboree start Saturday with the main Concours d’Elegance on Sunday at Honey Horn Plantation on Hilton Head Island.  This is the celebration of Porsche’s 60th Anniversary, so there will be plenty of new and classic Porsche’s on hand.  It looks like the weather will be perfect for the weekend.

There will be three Porsche 356’s offered for sale during the auction.  One is a 1965 356 C COUPE, there is a 1963 356B CABRIOLET,  and the third is a 1955 356 SPEEDSTER.  Visit: http://www.wwgauctions.com/hilton2008.cfm?page=10&pagend=10

The Auction is being held by Worldwide Auctioneers on Saturday, November 1st on the show field at Honey Horn Plantation.  Worldwide has conducted the auctions for the last three years and they keep getting better each year.  The catalog of cars being offered this year is fantastic.  It ranges from vintage motorcycles, classic European sports cars, American classics and everything in between.  Visit: http://www.wwgauctions.com/hilton2008.cfm?page=1&pagend=10
