Porsche GT3 Cup S Race Car

The GT3 Cup S was built to race in international championships under FIA GT3 regulations.  The body is based on the GT3 RS road car that is rear wheel drive but has the wide body rear flares like an all-wheel drive Carrera.  Notice the extra flare on the front fender as well, reminiscent of the RSR’s of the early ’70’s.  Manufacturers build cars like the GT3 RS for the street so the body can be homologated into a racing class.  God bless ’em!

The 6 cylinder 3.6 liter boxer engine makes 440 HP at 8,000 RPM and 317 lbs/ft of torque at 7,250 RPM.  Maximum RPM on this engine is 8,400.  The Cup S shares many suspension components with the RSR and also uses a Six-speed sequential gearbox.
