1962 Porsche 356B Twin Grill Cabrio For Sale at Auction

This 1962 356B Twin Grill Cabrio will be up for auction at the Houston Classic Auction Saturday, May 2nd. The auction is being held by Worldwide Auctioneers in conjunction with the 14th Annual Keels and Wheels Concours d’Elegance at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook Texas. Looks like a fantastic event and a beautiful venue. Carrol Shelby will be the Grand Marshal.

The cars bio in the catalog reads:

This 1962 356B Cabriolet is one of the finest we have had the privilege of offering. This rare 1962 twin-grille Porsche has been an Arizona car its entire life; free from the effects of a harsh environment. It does not appear to have ever had rust or corrosion whatsoever. The prior caretaker was an Arizona dentist that took great pride in the continual use and upkeep of this marvelous cabriolet. Documents and receipts with the car underscore the preservation efforts since about 1986 showing the car has been a western car ヨ fully restored to the highest standards. After the current vendor purchased this 356, they were very fortunate to find that the previous owner had the entire interior re-upholstered by Autos International, a leading authority of Porsche materials and craftsmanship. Finished in red leather with tan carpeting and matching straw mats, the interior is absolutely gorgeous and functional as all gauges work properly. The paint and body are in excellent condition. Thousands of dollars were invested into the overall appearance, as the door and hood gaps line up better then new, and the body is virtually flawless. Fitted with an insulated tan top over an ivory exterior it is a very desirable color combo and looks spectacular. The successful dentist was very meticulous and no expenses were spared or details overlooked during restoration efforts.
Very active in his local Porsche club, the previous steward would also attend many of the driving events put on by his group. This is one major reason to purchase this car. After driving this car for the first time, one will find that it performs exceptionally well. The steering, handling, and braking are excellent. It should have no problem running 1,000 miles at any moment. Along with the stack of records and receipts, this Cabriolet also has its Kardex. It should be noted that current motor may have been a dealer warranty replacement as the Kardex shows as 607712; very close to the existing motor number. The receipts with the car tell a positive story: a few include tune-ups and adjustments in preparation for the rallies the previous owner attended, as well as tune-ups and adjustments after finishing each rally. He really kept this Porsche in pristine running condition and amazing cosmetic condition.
There are many wonderful 356 Cabriolets that continue to perform for the road and track, but few can match this quality of paint, body, interior, and running condition. This Porsche Twin Grille needs nothing. It is a fabulous turn-key example that is ready to be driven or shown on a momentメs notice.
